Ja Rule (birth name Jeffrey Atkins) is an American rapper and actor. He was born on February 29, 1976, in New York City, New York, United States. He is also known for his long standing feud with fellow New York rapper 50 Cent. He quickly gained popularity in 1999 with his breakthrough debut album, Venni Vetti Vecci, which spawned three singles, "It's Murda" (featuring DMX & Jay-Z), "Holla Holla" and "Daddy's Little Baby" (featuring Ronald Isley). In 2001, he released his best selling album, Pain Is Love, which was regarded as one of the most commercially successful albums ever in Hip-Hop, producing two number ones, going three times platinum in the US, and also having large success worldwide.
