Yakuza is an avant-garde metal band from Chicago, US, famous for their incorporation of jazz and world music elements. Yakuza was formed in 1999 by the quartet of instrumentalists Jim Staffel, Eric Plonka, Bruce Lamont and Eric Clark. They have created their own genre: a metal base with progressive flair incorporating elements of jazz, world beat, and post-rock ambience. They recorded their debut album “Amount to Nothing” in 2001. The album was a success and it led to a record contract and the release of their second album, “Way of the Dead”, in 2002. This album of Yakuza in mp3 format is available for download on our site. The band proceeded with the album "Samsara" released in 2006 and “Transmutations”, 2007 where they enlisted a wide variety of musical guests and continued their music experiments.
