Mika, birth name Michael Holbrook Penniman is a Lebanese-english pop singer-songwriter who was born on August 18, 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon to Lebanese mother and American father. When he was a child the war outbroke in that region and his family moved to Paris. At the age of 9 he moved to London with his family. His first music influences were Nirvana (he wrote his first song after listening to Heart-Shaped Box) and Joe Dassin (the first melody he learnt to play was “Les Champs-Élysées”). He was working for “Royal Opera House”, wrote music for British Airways and for “Orbit” commercial.
