Biography

Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone was formed in Kolbotn, Norway in 1988. The band now is a duo and composes of Nocturno Culto (Ted Skjellum) - lead guitar, bass guitar, vocals, lyrics and Fenriz (Gylve Nagell) – drums, rhythm guitar, bass, vocals, lyrics. At the beginning of their career, the band was playing death metal and their debut album Soulside Journey was recorded in that genre. However, the band changed their style and they went on playing black metal. The band’s album Under the Funeral Moon, released in 1993, shows traditional Norwegian black metal of that time. The next album Transilvanian Hunger caused some controversy that many of the dealers rejected to distribute the album. There was a phrase "Norsk Arisk Black Metal" (Norwegian Aryan Black Metal) and the band was thought to be in favor of fascist ideas. The band signed a deal with another label and went on releasing the albums. You can download Darkthrone’s albums in mp3 from our site.
