Biography

British folk-pop singer-songwriter Laura Marling, full name Laura Beatrice Marling was born on February 1, 1990 in Eversley, Hampshire, England. She has been playing guitar since 5 years old and now she plays bass and piano as well. She began her career as part of the original line-up in the band Noah and the Whale. She left the group before the release of their debut album. Later, she continued to collaborate with some groups (The Rakes and Mystery Jets) and decided to pursue a solo career. Her debut album Alas, I Cannot Swim was released in 2008. The album was released through Virgin Records and was praised by the critics especially in The Independent, Q, The Times, The Guardian, and by many others.
