Italian tenor and classical crossover artist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Andrea Bocelli was born on September 22, 1958 in Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy. He was born with a very weak eyesight and when he was 12 he became totally blind after the incident during the soccer game. However he reached worldwide popularity and he is considered one of the best tenors of the world. He has become the best-selling solo classical artist. His debut album Il Mare Calmo della Sera reached platinum status within several weeks in Italy. Afterwards his albums were Platinum in Germany, United States, Canada and across Europe.
