American folk and blues singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie, birth name Arlo Davy Guthrie, was born on July 10, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York, the United States. He is a son of a famous folk singer Woody Guthrie and his father influenced a lot on his music career and music tastes. Arlo carries on his father’s legacy and he is not only a prominent singer but also he is known for his long time political activism. His songs are often social related, like one of the most his popular pieces. The song "Alice's Restaurant Massacree" was released in 1967 and quickly made Guthrie popular.
