Herbie Hancock, birth name Herbert Jeffrey Hancock is an American jazz pianist and composer born on April 12, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, the United States. He is considered one of the most influential jazz figures in the 20th century. He is one of the first musicians who combined synthesizers and funk. He showed his outstanding talent when he was child. At the age of 11, he played Mozart’s concert #5 with Chicago Symphonic orchestra. Today he is an improvisator who can blend jazz, blues and modern classics in the style of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel. He has released a big number of albums and many of his works were recognized and received awards and nominations.
