An icon of American popular culture Willie Hugh Nelson (Willie Nelson) was born on April 30, 1933 in Abbott, Texas, the US. He’s a country singer-songwriter, actor, poet and activist. He became popular in 70s and the breakthrough hit single was cover of Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain written by Fred Rose in 1945. That period was called “the outlaw country” as his music and the music of another successful singer Waylon Jennings didn’t match the Nashville standard. Later he sang a duet with Julio Iglesias, that was a “To All the Girls I've Loved Before” song. Nelson played in the group The Highwaymen formed by him, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. They were very popular and had worldwide tours. Willie wrote songs for many stars of that time, like Roy Orbison, Faron Young, Billie Walker. Willie Nelson released his last album in 2009 – Willie and the Wheel which you can download it in mp3 from our site.
