Biography
French pop and disco vocal female group Belle Epoque was from Paris, France. The trio was founded in 1977. The core of the band was a French singer Evelyne Lenton who had begun her career back in early 1960s. During that time, she was known under the name Evy. The initial line-up of the group composed of Evelyne Lenton and two back vocalists Jusy Fortes (known also as Judy Lisboa) from Cape Verde and Marcia Briscoe (also known as Marcia Briscue) from Atlanta, Georgia, the United States. The line-up wasn’t stable and the girls changed. The group’s biggest hit in Europe was their remake for Los Bravos’ hit from the 1960s “Black is Black”. The song reached the top 10 of the European charts and was at number 2 on the UK Singles chart. The group was popular in the US with their hit “Miss Broadway”.
