Biography
American and British folk and neo-renaissance band Blackmore’s Night was formed by ex-Deep Purple member Ritchie Blackmore (guitars, mandolin, domra, hurdy gurdy) and by his American partner Candice Night (vocals, chanter, shawn, rauschpfeife, tambourine). The two met each other in New York and were involved in romantic relations. Soon, they discovered that both had a passion for renaissance and decided to organize a band. The band was formed in 1997. Other musicians joined the twosome and the band was completed. They are Bard David of Larchmont – keyboards, Squire Malcolm of Lumley (Malcolm Dick) – drums, Gypsy Rose (Elizabeth Cary) – Violin and Earl Grey of Chamay (Mike Clemente) - Bass, mandolin and guitar. The band has reached success mostly in Europe. They perform at Renaissance fairs, festivals and in special venues, like castles.
