American hip hop duo Blue Scholars comes from Seattle, Washington, the United States. The duo was formed in2002 when the would-be members were part of the Student Hip Hop Organization of Washington. The duo composes of MC Geologic and DJ Sabzi. Geologic (birth name George Quibuyen) is also a spoken word poet and he is a son of Filipino immigrants. Sabzi (birth name Alexei Saba Mohajerjasbi) is an Iranian-American jazz pianist and before joining the Blue Scholar, he was involved in punk and ska communities writing music for a band. The duo has released three studio albums and four extended plays. The duo’s second full-length album Bayani was praised by critics, like I JIVE Magazine, Okayplayer.
