English indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club was formed in Crouch End, London, England in 2005. The band was originally known as The Canals but they changed it for Bombay Bicycle Club, naming the band after the Indian restaurant. The band members are Jack Steadman – lead vocals, guitar, xylophone, Jamie MacColl – lead guitar, backing vocals, Suren de Saram – drums, guitar, backing vocals and Ed Nash – bass guitar, keyboards, vocals. The band won the “Road to МЭ competition run on Channel 4 and played at the V Festival in 2006. After that, the band toured a lot and appeared at such events like Reading and Leeds Festivals, The Edge Festival, Underage Festival and others. Their debut album I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose was released in 2009 through Island Records. The album reached number 46 on the UK Albums chart.
