Biography

German heavy metal band Bonfire was formed in Ingolstadt, West Germany in 1972. At the end of 80s the band was one of the heavy German export alongside Scorpions and Accept. The band’s style can be classified as hard rock featuring many rock ballads, probably for the North American market. The band can be compared with such acts like Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Dokken, Survivor. The current band’s lineup consists of Claus Lessmann - vocals, Hans Ziller - guitar, Jürgen "Bam Bam Wiehler" – drums, Uwe Köhler - bass, Chris "Yps" Limburg – guitar. The band didn’t reach the mainstream worldwide success but they could sell 6 million copies around the world and they have released 12 studio albums.
