English novelist and poet Emily Jane Bronte was born on July 30, 1818 in Thornton, West Riding of Yorkshire, England and died on December 19, 1848 in Haworth, Yorkshire, England. She was younger sister of Charlotte Bronte and the fifth child out of six. The two sisters Maria and Elizabeth died when the school they were attending was taken over by the typhus. The remaining sisters were taught at home. Charlotte was a teacher in a girls’ school and when Emily was 17 she was sent their, but she returned home very quickly because of homesickness. Emily joined Charlotte when she went to Brussels to attend a girls’ academy to perfect French and German and as a result to open their own shool. However, they failed. Emily published her only one novel Wuthering Heights in 1847 and died the next year because of unsanitary conditions at home. You can download this audiobook by Emily Bronte in mp3 from our site.
