American death metal band Cannibal Corpse was formed in Buffalo, New York, the United States in 1988. The band consists of Alex Webster (bass), Paul Mazurkiewicz (drums, percussion), Rob Barrett (guitars), George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (lead vocals), and of Pat O'Brien (guitars). The has been very controversial since the formation due to their lyrics which are about killing people and often are based on horror films and horror fiction. This led to ban in several countries like Korea, New Zealand, Australia and partly in Germany. There was a heavy critics in the United States as well. The band rose to fame when they starred in the film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Jim Carrey appeared to be a death metal fan and invited the band.
