American rockabilly singer, songwriter and a key figure in developing and establishing rockabilly genre Carl Perkins, birth name Carl Lee Perkins was born on April 9, 1932 in Tiptonville, Tennessee, USA and died on January 19, 1998 in Jackson, Tennessee. He reached the fame recording for the Sun Records and one of his most popular songs is “Blue Sued Shoes” (1956). The song has become one of the most covered in the history of the classical rock and roll. Many famous artists sang it including Elvis Presley and the Beatles. Perkins also performed in the country genre. He and Johnny Cash were friends and Perkins often appeared on the stage with him and appeared on his records and TV shows.
