American country music artist, singer and songwriter Chris Knight was born on June 24, 1960 in Slaughters, Kentucky, the United States. When he was 15 years old, he taught himself to play John Prine’s songs on his brother’s guitar and decided to pursue a music career. However, everything was not so quickly. He worked as a miner’s consultant, then received a University degree in agriculture and only then, he decided to write his own songs. After six years of writing he went to Nashville where he won a spot on a songwriters’ night and was noticed by Frank Liddell. Knight signed a deal with Bluewater Music and released his debut self-titled album in 1998. Knight wrote songs not only for himself but for other artists as well including John Anderson, Randy Travis, Montgomery Gentry ("She Couldn't Change Me") and others.
