French electronic duo Daft Punk from Paris, France was formed in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born February 8, 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975). During their career the musicians have released three studio albums – Homework (1997), Discovery (2001) and Human After All (2005). The most successful album to date is Discovery as it reached number two in the UK and France and number 44 on the American charts. The album has become a soundtrack for the animated movie Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem. The album went on 3 x Platinum in France and Platinum in the European Union and in the UK, and went Gold in Australia and in Canada.
