American saxophonist Dave Koz was born on March 27, 1963 in Encino, California, the United States. He began playing saxophone in his brother’s band. The reason he decided to play this instrument was that the band needed only saxophonist and Dave inspired by the possibility of playing on the stage learned how to play sax. Koz also played in school jazz band, was a member of Bobby Caldwell’s tour, session musician for several bands. Eventually, he decided to pursue a solo career. He has released quite many recordings and received popularity even in some Asian countries. His single “Emily” reached the top of the charts in Hong Kong, Malaysia and in Philippines.
