Alfred Deller (31 May 1912 – 16 July 1979) was an English classical Renaissance and Baroque music singer who was born in Margate (district of East Kent), England. He came to prominence with a radio broadcast of the English Baroque composer Henry Purcell's Come ye Sons of Art. During this time, he closely collaborated with the famous British classical composer Michael Tippett who helped Deller to concentrate on popularizing the music by the English Baroque and Renaissance music composers such as John Dowland and Purcell. He is also well known for a collection of his greatest compositions including "Theodora Sweet Rose and Lily", "Theodora Kind Heaven", "Jeptha_Tis Heaven's All Ruling Power", "Orlando_Ah! stigie larve", "Mass in B minor_Agnus Dei" and many others. In the late 1990s, the compilation album of his most popular works, Bach (Cantatas) - Handel (Arias), was released.
