American country music singer-songwriter Dwight Yoakam, birth name Dwight David Yoakam was born on October 23, 1956 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the United States. He began his career in the beginning of 1980s and quickly became popular with the country audience. The song, which made him popular, was “Honky Tonk Man”. It reached number one on Canadian Country chart and number three on the Hot Country Songs. During his career he has produced quite a number of hit singles including "Little Ways", "Streets of Bakersfield" (with Buck Owens), "I Sang Dixie", "I Got You", "You're the One", "Ain't That Lonely Yet", "A Thousand Miles from Nowhere", "Fast as You" and others.
