Biography

Eliza Gilkyson is an American folk music singer, songwriter and guitarist. She was born on October, 17 1950, in Hollywood, California, U.S.A. She is a sister of the Los Angeles based folk rock musician Tony Gilkyson who played with the cowpunk bands Lone Justice and X. He also had professional relationships with various artists such as Exene Cervenka, Eleni Mandell, Chuck E. Weiss and Dave Alvin. Her father, Terry Gilkyson, achieved success in the late 1960s as a composer for Disney films. She released her debut album, Eliza '69, in 1969 and it received mainly positive critical acclaim. Two decades later, she released her most successful album, Pilgrims, which produced several hit singles such as "Calling All Angels", "Shadows and Footprints", "Material Man", "Foolish Heart" and "Mr. Mystery".
