American folk-rock singer-songwriter Elvis Perkins was born on February 9, 1976 in New York City, the United States. He came to prominence in 2007 releasing his debut album Ash in Wednesdays under XL Records. In order to support his album on tours he formed the band Elvis Perkins in Dearland. The band consists of Perkins, Brigham Brough (bass, vocals, saxophone), Wyndham Boylan-Garnett (organ, harmonium, trombone, guitar, vocals) and Nick Kinsey (drums, clarinet, vocals). The band has already released its debut self-titled album. The band is often compared to Leonard Cohen, Neutral Milk Hotel, Buddy Holly and The Band. Perkins stated that he "loathe[s] the term singer-songwriter” and that he would like to be referred as "a recording artist." From our site, you can download Elvis Perkins’ debut album in mp3.
