Enrique Iglesias (birth name Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler) is a Spanish pop, latin pop and R&B singer, songwriter, model, and actor. He was born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain. His father is worldwide popular Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. He did not want his father to know about his plans for a musical career, and did not want his famous surname to help advance his career. Citing his early inspiration from his teenage lover, Christie Debler, Iglesias borrowed money from his family nanny, and recorded a demo tape which consisted of one Spanish song and two English songs. In 1995, he released his first album titled Enrique Iglesias, which won the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album at the Grammy Awards. Five singles from this album hit the number-one spot in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart: "Si Tú Te Vas", "Experiencia Religiosa", "Por Amarte", "No Llores Por Mí" and "Trapecista".
