American banjo player Béla Fleck, birth name Béla Anton Leoš Fleck was born on July 10, 1958 in New York City, New York, the United States. He is one of the most famous and innovative banjo players in the world. He usually performs with his band Béla Fleck and the Flecktones. Members of the band are Victor Wooten (bass), Jeff Coffin (saxophone) and Future Man (percussion). They have released 13 studio albums. Besides his work with a band, Fleck performs as a solo artist, a guest artist and he collaborated with other bands like Tasty Licks, Spectrum, The New Grass Revival. There was much one-off collaboration as well. Fleck has been nominated for many Grammy Awards and won nine of them. He cites Chick Corea, Charlie Parker and Earl Scruggs as his influences.
