Biography

American hip-hop group Geto Boys, also known as Ghetto Boys was founded in Houston, Texas, the United States in 1986. The group is said to put southern rap on map and to influence and inspire such famous artists like 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Outkast, Lil Wayne and others. The original group’s line-up composed of Prince Johnny C, Sire Jukebox, DJ Ready Red, Little Billy and of dancer who would be known later as Bushwick Bill. The line-up wasn’t stable and the current members are Bushwick Bill, Scarface and Willie D. The band is known for their hateful and aggressive lyrics. Despite this, the band has become a very popular and built a strong following. Their album We Can’t Be Stopped (1991) spawned a hit single "Mind Playing Tricks on Me". It reached number one on the American Rap chart. Other group’s popular singles are "Crooked Officer", "Six Feet Deep" and "The World Is a Ghetto".
