American jazz musician, bandleader, composer, and arranger Glenn Miller, birth name Alton Glenn Miller was born on March 1, 1904 in Clarinda, Iowa, the United States. He began playing trombone since 14 years old when the local butcher presented it to him (little Miller had a part time job there). He liked so much music and the new jazz rhythms that he was soon playing at the school orchestra and when he was studying in the University, he was part of the university orchestra. Then he moved to Los Angeles in order to pursue a professional music career. Miller organized his own orchestra and has become the legend of all jazz music. He achieved massive popularity that is still goes on. During the WWII, he and his orchestra were playing for the allies at military bases and at BBC. Miller’s airplane disappeared over the English Channel on December 15, 1944. You can download Glenn Millers album Percusion in mp3 from our site.
