Scottish musician, singer and songwriter Ian Anderson, birth name Ian Scott Anderson was born on August 10, 1947 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. He is also a multi-instrumentalist playing incredible number of instruments including guitar, bass, mandolin, balalaika, harmonica, whistle, keyboards, saxophone etc. He is famous for being the leader of the rock band Jethro Tull. For his outstanding contribution to music, he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire and received the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement. In addition to his work in Jethro Tull, he has pursued solo career as well. However, he didn’t reach such popularity as with his band. During his solo career, he has released four studio albums.
