Biography

American rock band Jefferson Starship was formed in San Francisco, California, the United States. The band was popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The band emerged on the American rock scene forming out of the band Jefferson Airplane. It’s difficult to tell the exact time when Jefferson Starship was formed but the first album, which associates with this act, is Blows Against the Empire (1970). The creative force of the album was Paul Kantner. The current band members are Paul Kantner, David Freiberg, Cathy Richardson, Slick Aguilar, Donny Baldwin, Chris Smith and Jeff Pevar. During its career, the band has released quite a number of singles, including three singles number one - "We Built This City", "Sara", "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now. The two first songs featured the album Knee Deep in Hoopla. The album reached number 7 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum.
