American record producer, rapper and songwriter Jermaine Dupri, known also as J.D., birth name Jermaine Dupri Mauldin was born on September 23, 1972 in Asheville, North Carolina. He rose to fame as a producer but he has achieved the popularity as rapper as well. He released his debut solo album 12 Soulful Nights of Christmas in 1996. The album wasn’t noticed by the major part of the audience. Dupri continued writing songs and released his next effort “Life in 1472”. The album became very successful and received Platinum status. The album spawned such singles like "The Party Continues" (featuring Da Brat & Usher), "Sweetheart" (featuring Mariah Carey) and "Money Ain't a Thang" (featuring Jay-Z). The next album Instructions went on Platinum as well yielding singles "Welcome to Atlanta" (featuring Ludacris) and "Ballin' Out of Control" (featuring Nate Dogg).
