American country music and folk singer-songwriter John Pride was born on October 10, 1946 in Maywood, Illinois, the United States. He began his music career in Chicago and released his debut self-titled album John Prine in 1971. The album included such songs as "Illegal Smile," "Sam Stone”, "Angel from Montgomery" and "Paradise." It’s known that Bob Dylan backed Prine during one of his club concerts anonymously playing harmonica. The 1975 album titled Common Sense has become the first his album charting on the US Billboard 100 which reflected on the commercial success in a positive way. Prine has been recognized by the music world having received Grammy Awards for the album The Missing Years and and for Fair and Square. He was also awarded by American Music Awards.
