Biography
Johnny Cash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American сountry and rock singer-songwriter and actor. He was born J. R. Cash in Kingsland, Arkansas, to Ray and Carrie Cash, and raised in Dyess, Arkansas. He was given the name "J.R." because his parents could not agree on a name, only on initials. He was also well known for his deep, distinctive bass-baritone voice, the "chicka-boom" freight train sound of his Tennessee Three backing band, his demeanor, and his dark clothing, which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black". His songs and sound spanned many genres including rockabilly and rock and roll, as well as blues, folk and gospel. He achieved mainstream success with his live album, At Folsom Prison, which spawned the hits, "Flowers on the Wall", "25 Minutes to Go" and "Blue Suede Shoes". In 2003, the album was ranked number 88 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. From our site you may download Johnny Cash's live album, At Folsom Prison, in mp3.
