American alternative hip-hop group Jurassic 5 from Los Angeles, California was formed in 1993 by rappers Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Mark 7even, DJ Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist. The group was founded at the Good Life Café store where rappers participated in the open mic nights. Before that, all of them had been members of other rap groups – Rebels of Rhythm and Unity Committee. The group split in 2007 and during their career, they released four studio albums. Two their last albums Powers in Numbers and Feedback can be considered commercially successful. They reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 and number 13 and 12 on the R&B/Hip-hop chart respectively. The group’s singles include such songs like "Red Hot", "Canto De Osshanha", "Work It Out", "What's Golden/High Fidelity", "Freedom"/"One of Them" and others.
