American pop rock singer, Katy Perry (birth name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) was born on October 25, 1984, in Santa Barbara, California, United States. She is known for her unconventional style of dress. Among Perry's musical influences are Alanis Morissette and British singer-songwriter Freddie Mercury. Her first commercially-successful album was, One of the Boys (2008), which produced three singles, "I Kissed a Girl", "Waking Up In Vegas" and "Hot N Cold". "I Kissed a Girl" was a commercial success. And it topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the 1000th chart-topper of the rock era. The album received positive reviews from Billboard magazine who claimed, "not since Jagged Little Pill has a debut album been so packed with potential hits".
