Lesley Garrett is an English classical singer, songwriter, musician and broadcaster. She was born on 10 April 1955, in Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. She rose to fame as a winner of the Decca Prize of the Kathleen Ferrier Award in the late 1970s. She is also well known for her collaborations with various artists such as Bryan Ferry, The Eurythmics and Mick Hucknall among others. She gained popularity as a recording artist in the early 1990s with her debut album, Prima Donna, which was highly praised by critics. She continued the success with her following album, Simple Gifts. Several years later, she released her most commercially-successful album, A Soprano Inspired, which contained the singles such as "Exsultate, Jubilate: Alleluia", "Ave Maria", "The Lord's Prayer", "Mass In C Minor: Laudamus te" and "Bless This House".
