Linda Pettifer, better known as Linda Thompson was born on August 23, 1947 in London, England. She is an English folk rock singer, one of the most popular singers of the folk movement during the 1960s and the 1970s. She is known for her work with her former husband Richard Thompson. After the break up with her ex-husband, Linda lost her voiced. That was caused by hysterical dysphonia. She had to recover for the next two years. However, everything turned out to be all right and she embarked on solo career. Her debut solo album One Clear Moment was released in 1985. After that, she married an American and decided to leave music business. The death of her mother caused a solid determination to sing again. However, that was prevented by spasmodic dysphonia and loss of the voice again as a result. Linda recovered again and released her solo album Fashionably Late.
