American grunge and blues rock band Mad Season was formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994. The band was founded by musicians from Seattle-based bands, like Screaming Trees, Pearle Jam and Alice in Chains. The band’s line-up composed of Barrett Martin – drums, Mike McCready – guitar, John Baker Saunders – bass and Layne Staley – vocals, guitar. The band ceased to exist in 1999. During their career, they released only one album Above. The album was released through Columbia Records. It received different reviews from media. Melody Maker gave them “favorable” rank, while Rolling Stone gave only 2,5 stars out 5 and Allmusic ranked them with 3 stars.
