Marc Cohn is an American adult contemporary, folk rock and country music singer, songwriter and musician. He was born on July 5, 1959, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. In the early 1990s, he signed a contract with Atlantic record label. After this deal, he started recording album. His breakthrough eponymous first album, Marc Cohn, was released in 1991, and it spawned the singles "Walking in Memphis", "Ghost Train", "Silver Thunderbird" and "Dig Down Deep". The lead track, "Walking in Memphis", reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 22 on the UK chart. This song also brought the Grammy Award for Best New Artist to him, in 1991.
