German Europop and Dancepop group Modern Talking was formed in Germany in 1984. The group composed of Dieter Bohlen and of Thomas Anders (real name Bernard Weidung). The duo has become overpopular in their home country hitting all sales records. Their popularity extended till Asia, South America and Middle East and spread all around Europe as well except for the UK. The group remained unknown for the mainstream audience in the US and in Canada, yet it is still popular in other parts of the world. The band rose to fame with their debut single “You’re Me Heart, You’re My Soul” and continued topping the charts with such hit singles like Chery, Chery Lady, You Can Win if You Want, Brother Louis, Atlantis is Calling (S.O.S. for Love) and Geronimo’s Cadillac. The band’s most popular active period finished in 1987 when they broke up.
