Biography

American indie-rock and post-punk revival band the Nation was formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1999. The band composes of singer and lyrics writer Matt Barninger and brothers Aaron (guitar, bass, piano) and Bryce Dessner (guitar) and Scott (bass and guitar) and Bryan Devendorf (drums). The band rose to the tops of the charts with their fifth album High Violet. The album received a critical acclaim from such renowned medias like the Guardian, the Independent, Spin, Q, musicOMH, BBC, Drowned in Sound and others. The album spawned two singles “Bloodbuzz Ohio” and “Anyone’s Ghost”. The album peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200, at number 5 on the UK Albums chart, number 2 on Canadian Albums chart and at number 2 on Danish Albums chart.
