New Amsterdams are an American indie rock and acoustic band formed in Lawrence, Kansas, the United States in 2000. The band was a solo project of Matthew Pryor. His first album were primary recorded with acoustic guitar only and sometimes with banjo. The album Worse for the Wear released in 2003 through Vargant Records became the first album recorded with full size band. The personnel for the album included Matt Pryor - Vocals, Guitar, Lap Steel, and Pump Organ, Rob Pope – Bass, Ryan Pope - Drums and Percussion, Ed Rose - Guitar, Drums, Producer, Engineering, and Mixing and others. The album received very good reviews, namely from the Rolling Stone, who ranked the album with 4 points. You can download New Amsterdams’ first full size band album in mp3 from our site.
