Biography
American hip hop duo OutKast was formed in Atlanta, Goergia, the United States in 1991. Now the duo, consisting of Antwan "Big Boi" Patton and of "André 3000" Benjamin, is based in East Point, Georgia. The duo singed a deal with a record label only after finishing their studies. Their first single “Player’s Ball” released in 1993, quickly gained the popularity and reached the top spot of the rap-charts in the U.S. During 1990s their popularity rose and they gathered a solid fan base though white mainstream public didn’t know much about them. The breakthrough happened in 2000 when the duo released their fourth album “Stankonia” which spawned a hit single Mr. Jackson. But the real fame came to them in 2003 when they issued their double album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. It propelled them to the stardom as the album became a massive hit.
