Pete Yorn (birth name Peter Joseph Yorn) is an American rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was encouraged enough to maintain a focus on music while attending Syracuse University where he was a major in the department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies and a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. After graduating, Yorn moved to Los Angeles, where he began to attract a following with his performances at Cafe Largo. He gained recognition when his music, including the song "Strange Condition", appeared in the film Me, Myself & Irene (2000). After experiencing this taste of success, he released his 2001 debut album, entitled musicforthemorningafter, which went gold on the strength of the album's lead single, "Life on a Chain".
