Biography
Pink Floyd are an English progressive rock and psychedelic rock band that was formed in 1965 and consisted of Bob Klose, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, Richard Wright, Syd Barrett and David Gilmour. They are known for philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative album cover art, and elaborate live shows. Pink Floyd had always been popular in England, though they did not achieve worldwide critical and commercial success until the concept albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), and Animals (1977), and the rock opera The Wall (1979), which you may download in mp3 from our site. The Wall quickly jumped to #1 on the Billboard 200 in the US in its fourth week (it debuted at #53) and #3 in the UK. In the U.S. it has achieved 23 times platinum (for sales of 11.5 million double-disc sets. The Wall is the best-selling multiple-disc album of all-time in the US and Pink Floyd's second best-selling album in the US after The Dark Side of the Moon.
