American producer, conductor, musician, arranger, composer and film composer Quincy Jones, full name Quincy Delight Jones Jr. was born on March 14, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois. He performs in different genres including soul, jazz, funk, pop, swing and others. He is one of the most respectable and recognized musicians nowadays. During his career, he has received incredible number of awards including 27 Grammy Awards and induction in the Dance Music Hall of Fame. His influence on the culture is so great that it was discussed that Jones could become the first Minister of Culture for the U.S. During his career, he produced and arranged for such artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Donna Sumner and others. He is known as the producer of the song “We are the World” and the producer of the best-selling world album “Thriller”.
