Biography

English indie rock band the Rakes was from Lodnon, England. They were formed in 2004 and consisted of Alan Donohoe (vocals), Jamie Hornsmith (bass guitar), Lasse Petersen (drums), Matthew Swinnerton (guitar, vocals). The band split in 2009. During their career, they released 3 studio albums. The band was particularly remarkable for their dress style. They were associated with Louis Vuitton, Dior Homme and Fred Perry. The band provided their song “The World Was A Mess, But His Hair Was Perfect" for the Dior Homme fashion show. As for the success, the band didn’t achieve the mainstream popularity. Their debut album Capture/Release peaked at number 32 on the UK Albums chart and that was the highest-charting album in their discography. The last album Klang came out in 2009.
