Rhett Miller, birth name Stewart Ransom Miller II was born on September 6, 1970 in Austin, Texas, the United States. He is an American singer-songwriter who is known for his solo career and for being a lead singer in the alternative country band Old 97’s. He began his music career dropping out the college and forming the band Sleeping Heroes. The band wasn’t active for too long, they released one album and broke up. Miller began his solo career in 1989 releasing the album Mythologies. The next album The Instigator came out after a long break, only in 2002. The album was released through Elektra Records and spawned two singles “Our Love” and “Come Around”. The last his album was issued in 2009.
