Biography

Russel Watson is an English tenor singing not only classics, but pop as well. He was born on November 24, 1966 in Salford, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. He has been singing since his childhood and he rose to prominence after the performance in the working men’s club. He received national attention in 1999 when he sang England's national anthem at the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium. Later he was singing Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe song “Barcelona” after the last match in the English Football Premier League. He released his debut album The Voice in 2000. The album was certified 2 x Platinum in the UK. The next album Encore reached the same rank. The last album La Voce came out in 2010.
