Irish-Norwegian duo playing New Age, neoclassical and Celtic music was formed in 1994. The duo composes of Irish violinist Fionnuala Sherry and of Norwegian composer/pianist Rolf Løvland. The band has sold about 3 million copies around the world and won the Eurovision song contest for Norway in 1995. It was the second Norway success at this contest and it was the first ever instrumental piece to win Eurovision. Though Petter Skavlan wrote some lyrics in order to adhere the contest’s rules and the song was performed by Norwegian singer Gunnhild Tvinnereim. This immense success propelled the band to the stardom and their debut album Songs from a Secret garden enjoyed the success as well. The album was so popular that it spent more than two years in the Billboard New Age. Their next album White Stones was also popular and reached the top ten on Billboard New Age charts.
